Interesting melange of sounds. A bit of early Pink Floyd in places, at least as far as spacey sound effects go, and then some Dylan-esque harmonica. I kind of want to say a little bit of a Bowie sound, too, but it may just be the subject matter. The production is good. Crisp, thick snare. Maybe a sample, but maybe not, but does it matter? No. What matters is that this track goes beyond any “for fans of” description I can offer. It has a couple of surprises, which I’ll ruin for you right here because I don’t want you to miss them: crystal-clear vocals with some gorgeous, shimmering harmonies, interesting delays and reverbs, nice little drop out with a nice burst of sound between around the 1:58 to 2:00 mark, and some dialog from what sounds like an educational film toward the end. Not to lean on the FFO crutch again, but I’m trying to remember who it reminds me of. Maybe the Avalanches. Maybe St. Etienne. And I like the Camus reference in the artist’s name. It’s name your price on Bandcamp, so there’s really no excuse not to check it out.
