Germany based band Cosmic Souls has a couple of new songs in rotation on the station: “My Room” and “Three Things.” The band’s music is a nice fusion of prog and hard rock. Rhythmically intelligent and certianly guitar oriented with some cool riffs. I also appreciate how stark and obscure their lyrics are. It’s also pretty neat to see some of the behind the scene rehearsal performances on their IG. That’s always a plus for me these days when following bands.

As described by the band:

“An homage to the educational system, “My Room” clinically documents the effectiveness of modern education. The track proudly celebrates the conditioning of healthy compliance, the rewarding of corporate ruthlessness, and the systematic suppression of creativity without the use of physical force. A highly educational, calming audio guide for the modern, obedient citizen. Enjoy your confinement.”

““Three Things” was inspired by a famous quote from Solzhenitsyn. In the wake of 9/11, witnessing a society moving toward brutalization and a growing acceptance of totalitarianism, the song was written as a manifesto—a refusal to be part of this development.”
