As mentioned in a recent “news and updates” post, we’re piloting a “listener loyalty” program on the station this month. All the technical stuff is done and in place now. It’s on to the fun stuff. Every month I’ll be breaking down points into 3 “tiers.” Each tier will have its own set of listener rewards. What are the rewards? To be continued… suggest some to me! What I have in mind right now are obviously stars and tokens for Jukebox, and I quite fancy the idea of sending “random acts of coffee” to active listeners via Nack. Depending on how the pilot goes, cash rewards and/or gift cards are also on the table.

One neat thing that has been implemented for additional listening points is a listener feedback loop. Once tuned in for 20 minutes, a subtle banner will appear at the footer of the page (both desktop and mobile):

It will ask for some feedback on the song you’re currently listening to, and anything additional you’d like to provide feedback on regarding the song, and/or the scheduled show you’re listening to.

What I’m excited about with this particular feature is the opportunity for listeners to be involved in curating the content on the station. I foresee scheduling some listening events and special prizes in the future if all goes well with the pilot. That’s the direction I’d like to go with it. For the several listeners we have tuning in month to month that haven’t yet created an amsradio account, I’m hoping that this will add some incentive to create an account, and get the full “Jukebox” experience.
