The Unfamiliars – with a question mark – are a band from Athens, Greece that have a nostalgic but fresh, an upbeat but somber sound to them. I like it. While part of the arrangements possess elements of Folk Punk, the vocal lines and melodies remind me of Alternative Rock acts like Paramore. It’s an interesting mix that works for me.

I stress the question mark nomenclature in their name because in today’s highly saturated music market (currently being doggy piled on by the day with Gen AI music); you might find it a challenge to search and find this band out without it. Hence, this is one of those buried treasures in the mix. But that’s what we’re here for! To bring the underground gold to the surface. They have an album slated to release this month so it’s well worth following them online to keep up with the latest.
