Awesome new track added to the “New Arrivals” and “Punked” lineups today by an artist named Aaron Lewis Moore of Bexley, England! His latest track, “Hypocritical” is an upbeat, guitar laden rocker that at first hits your ears like a Skate Punk song. I liked the song so much I wanted to dig a little deeper into seeing what else he was putting out. As I looked into the catalog a little more, I realized that he casts a wider net than I was picking up on at first, when it comes to influences and where he draws inspiration from. He cites inspiration from several rock genres and artists including Guns N’ Roses, Nirvana, Metallica, and Oasis. And in learning that, it did lend some additional context to what I was hearing when listening to “Hypocritical.” Where I was initially hearing something that reminded me of Pennywise (which is an awesome thing in my book); I could very much pick up on the snarly approach in vocals a kin to Liam Gallagher.

Moore worked with producer Erim Ahmet (Enquire Within), to record “Hypocritical,” to which Moore credits a lot of “crunch” you hear in the song. The production does sound very slick in my opinion. It meshes well with the underlying rebellious free spirit in the songwriting. An interesting dynamic, given Ahmet’s polished and professional credentials and Moore’s approach:

“Press record and play whatever appears from within.”

Another thing I thought was neat and notable about Aaron Lewis Moore as an artist, is that he has a footprint of physical media available for his work. As a station that is also encouraging the concept owning music again (albeit, digitally with respect to what AMS is doing); I thought that was pretty cool. Check out his vinyl and CDs available HERE
