Sometimes when a submission comes in, the description of the song alone makes it a gauranteed listen, you know what I mean? One of our latest submissions was a song titled, “YOU SUCK” by a band called HOT PENNIES. What’s this all about, you say? Well, the first line of the description the band provided reads “YOU SUCK is, naturally, a love song…”

HOT PENNIES is a project from Tempe, Arizona by an artist that goes by Trash Anderson. On this latest single, full title “YOU SUCK b/w I’M TIRED,” Anderson duets with another artist by the name of Dana S. The songs on the single are rockin Garage Punk songs that remind me of records I still love to this day, that Goner Records sound. “I’M TIRED” has a really neat cow-punk sound to it. It will be released to streaming on February 13th, but can be supported now on Bandcamp. We’re also spinning “YOU SUCK” on AMS Radio during “New Arrivals” and “Punked” timeslots aaannnd it’s on Jukebox, ready to be added to your collection! Check it out.

“YOU SUCK is, naturally, a love song. I think we all have our moments in relationships sometimes. The important thing is communication, actually listening, and enacting change. I’ve wanted to record these duets with Dana S. (JJCnV, Sturdy Ladies) for a couple of years now so I’m really glad the opportunity arrived to make ’em happen.”
