Happy New Year from AMS Radio! 2025 was a roller coaster of a year for the station. I could sit here all day unpacking all the challenges that 2025 presented from a personal standpoint, a business standpoint, and just the wild turns of the music industry in general, but I won’t. I think anyone actually paying attention can venture to guess and have likely had their own ups and downs this last year. It’d just be preaching to the choir. In March of the last year, it looked like for a brief moment the station was done, and was even offline for a couple of weeks. Now, I am not one to obsess over numbers. In fact if you follow my artist account, you’d know I just posted recently about how much of a pet peeve obsessing over vanity metrics is for me. I am going to share a few snippets here, however, for the end-of-year review for the station because depsite the bleak outlook last March, AMS Radio is riding high in closing out the year, and I’m moved beyond belief about being able to preserve a place where independent underground music can be heard and seen.

At this time last year 2025, we were down to 103 active sessions and at 75 listening hours for the month:

A far cry from where we were in January 2024, and even further removed from previous “hey day” of Tweetcore years:

By the second half of 2025, AMS Radio was back online and moving forward on a project called “Jukebox” which is live now. It’s a place to hear independent music on the radio, add eligible songs to your collection, and organize them in “mix tapes.” It’s an exciting time for the station, it almost feels like a re-birth. And while total listening hours last month were not quite where they were in ’24 and before, the active sessions to total sessions demontrates a stronger than ever engagement. Tears! Tears of joy and deepest appreciation for anyone that’s given the station a listen and every artist that has submitted.
