This month’s Top 10 playlist is soooo tasty. It is sure to take you through the motions!There were so many fantastic releases last month. As it goes with the timing of things this time of year, several end-of-November Xmas tunes ushered in too at the tail end. However, only one song on this month’s Top 10 playlist is a Christmas song. And I even bent my own internal rules for this month with the Matt Moran tune. I typically hold pretty firm about the current month’s Top 10 being comprised of tracks released in the previous month. With the Moran song, I just liked it so much that even though I didn’t squeeze it in for the November list, I brought it forward for December.
While I find all the tracks on the list remarkably amazing, I do want to take a moment to particularly dork out on the Hana Piranha track. She’s an amazingly talented multi-instrumentalist and upcoming guest on the Sound Perspectives podcast. If you haven’t heard the latest album by her and her band of the same name titled “Wingspan,” I really recommend it. It is most definitely in the conversation for one of my favorite records of the year.

Where does one discover all these fantastic artists that grace the monthly Top 10 playlist, one might ask? Well, it is indeed a massive undertaking every month. There are so many communities of independent artists that lift each other up and make these songs visible. It’s a wonderful thing.
The Top 10 is intended to springboard that inertia. No real “rankings” per se, I am not charting or anything like that. In fact, you’ll find the order of songs in the playlist may vary from streaming service to streaming service. The Tweetcore community, the NAS (New Artist Spotlight) community, and the Onlythehost community alone are incredible resources for discovering new and independent music.
Icing on the cake, tracks are also sourced from artists that submit directly to AMS Radio via Daily Playlists and artists I am assigned to write about on the Less Than 1000 Followers blog as well.
