Indie Dog Days of XMAS Compilation!

I know. Believe me I know. I’m super self-conscious about being “that guy.” The “Christmas too early” guy. We’re barley within a pay period from Thanksgiving and many are still in the headspace of Halloween. In fact, I tend to shy away from the “holidays” all together. I actually tend to be “that guy” if anything. However! The ultimate unifier that is independent music has me writing this post today, breaking out of my shell a bit, and …. yeah…. has me pretty excited about the upcoming season. Well, specifically about a couple things.

First thing being the AMS Radio “Indie Dog Days of XMAS” compilation! It’s the second compilation AMS will be releasing (the first being the mini-comp in tribute to the band Failure last month). And if you’d have heard what I have thus far, you too would be counting down the days until Xmas. The compilation is a good reflection of the range of ways we experience “the holidays.” There’s joy! Obviously the best part. Finding joy and spending time with loved ones. There’s also a bit of S.A.D. songs. Yes, both the acronym and the implied word work on that one. And what XMAS album would be complete without a tune about the icon? The mythical man of the after-hours! I’m certain you know who I’m talking about. Of course you do, how could you not? That’s right. Krampus!

There will be a CD available for ordering on Bandcamp and at the merch site beginning November 20th. This part of the post will be an update in process as we get closer to the date but so far there’s a likelihood of contributions to the album by Brian Lambert, Blues Trainer, Scoopski, Fuzzruckus, Marc Schuster, Voodoo Planet, Silfradim, Prime Birds, Billy Lowry, Whitman Rinaldo, Quizboy … and a couple more inquiries pending.

And the second thing to be stoked about in the upcoming season – The AMS overpriced, ugly Xmas sweater. Aside from rockin’ a rad Krampus emblem and “Indie Dog” on it, it’s also super cool looking for when you’re …. talking to your cactus… or … grating cheese! (Look, I don’t know I’m just going by the pictures below).
