There are some updates to cover on the current happenings of Germany’s Seinaru Sekai, who’s sophomore single, “In Fear,” was featured on the blog last March. Since then, the band has released two more singles and has an official music video dropping soon. As referenced back in March, all these waterfalled releases are teasers leading up to a full-length album by the title of “Fragile Little World.”
Of the two recently released singles, “Pain” was the first unleashed upon the waiting world, dropping four days after AMS Radio’s initial coverage of “In Fear.” It invokes a pulsating sense of urgency from the opening synth and bass line before exploding into the driving double bass and false chord brutality signature to their style of metal.
Seinaru Sekai is best categorized as a modern melodic death metal band. They blend elements of Swedish melodic death metal with rhythmic characteristics of Metalcore. They are very much a tip of the hat to the full range of their cited influences such as In Flames and Dark Tranquillity.
Their sound is unique to overall genre of “Death Metal” in the sense that they can shift gears from an introspective, mind-wandering score to an unleashed 16th note flurry, more common to traditional Death Metal. Truly, a sonic experience. I find it captivating, and Schulz’s vocals are intense, commanding attention.

- Angelo Luca – Bass
- Vicent B. – Drums (ex- Darkest Horizon)
- Christian – Guitars
- Danny – Guitars
- Stephan Schulz – Vocals (ex- Carnage Calligraphy)
Flashing forward to just last Friday, May 26th, Seinaru Sekai released their third single of 2023, “Poisonous Injection.” And I think of the three released, this track is actually my favorite thus far. It’s also the track that will be featured in their debut music video. As with their hybrid of metal tendencies, the track kicks off with “pit friendly” riffing leaning into a Killswitch-Engage-like energy before completely shifting gears into blast beats and chaos. Despite the way the track starts, I actually think this song is more on the Death Metal side of things more than the other two. I even hear elements of Thrash in there as well.
This band has a wealth of experience playing live amongst the members. They’ve toured and played notable festivals (Metaldays, Winter Days of Metal, etc). They’ve shared the stage with many notable acts in the genre as well such as Wintersun and Ne Obliviscaris. And as the band marches on towards the release of the upcoming album, it will be interesting the watch the impact they have on their respective scene. I’m here for it!
