Bandcamp Fridays in 2023 | Bandcamp Daily

Every month’s first Friday is designated as a Bandcamp Friday. Bandcamp’s revenue sharing fees are waived on this day, making it the most convenient and “direct to consumer” way to support an artist, and you KNOW I’m all about that. So of course, I participate in celebratory and ritualistic fashion. It’s convenient for adding things to the radio station lineup, as the downloads come with all the necessary metadata baked in the cake. In my own weirdo and bizarre way, it’s a great way to double dip and show support. I can monetarily show support in advance, curate great content for the radio station, and generate royalties for an independent artist (radio royalties paid through SoundExchange). Suffice it to say, here’s some exciting new music by independent artists that have been added to the rotation!

And alas, my vinyl purchase of the month was for Spoon Benders new album that got put up for pre-order on Bandcamp Friday. They are local Garage-Psych-Rock band in Portland. I first heard them live at a show at the Doug Fir. They were amazing! And they even have another one coming up May 12th: Doug Fir Lounge Events
